Test Record -450 mt Leo3 Wi - 2019

During the Dema fair in Las Vegas 2018 we came into contact with many underwater research realities, we showed them our innovative cases, compatible with the new Mirrorless and DSLR cameras through electronic controls. We received a special request: to be able to make a case for the new Sony Mirrorless A73 to be installed outside a submarine, and to be able to manage its controls from the submarine's control cabin. The initial request was to arrange a guaranteed housing up to 300m in depth, and we immediately accepted the challenge, offering them a slightly modified Leo3wi housing. Over the months, our client has asked us to increase the maximum guaranteed depth to -450m. Well what about a very ambitious challenge! We immediately got to work, after a few months, we contacted one of our important customers who does underwater work at great depths to ask him for support to carry out this particular test at -450m as our current testing equipment was not designed for these extreme pressures. On 8 May 2019 at 9 am we arrived punctually at the RANA diving center in Ravenna ... after about a couple of hours of our arrival and having tested our modified leo3wi case for the altitude of -450m, we decided to open the test bell and we found that the test had succeeded perfectly, the satisfaction was really great. Being able to provide similar equipment that will allow you to capture 4K videos and very high quality photos at these altitudes, looking at the PC camera monitor from inside the submarine, being able to control it by changing times, apertures, ISO, photos, rec, etc. feeding it from the internal PC to the submarine is certainly another great step forward that fills us with satisfaction and gives us other incentives to continue to do new things.
