Second-hand management
We help those who choose our products to manage the sale of their used equipment, but we do not treat used equipment directly. We keep watch so that there is a kind of insurance for sellers and buyers.
If you decide to buy used Easydive equipment, we advise that you verify its condition with us before proceeding with your purchase.
Before buying a used housing, make sure you have the same model of camera, smartphone or tablet as the previous owner, otherwise you need to buy the Upgrade Kit.
If you wish to buy a used product without being a customer of ours, bear in mind that in order to purchase Easydive accessories you need to conduct maintenance and the transfer of guarantee.
To ensure the perfect functioning of the equipment at all times we do not accept orders of accessories from people who are not already in our database.
What do we do and what do we check?
The customer needs to have the buyer contact us to receive technical information and be informed about any costs to sustain once they purchase the used housing.
When the buyer contacts us, we ask for the serial number of the housing or the owner’s name.
We need this to verify:
- that the owner is in our database
- the state of maintenance of the housing
- for which model of camera, smartphone or tablet is the housing predisposed
- compatibility with their equipment.
After the check, we communicate to the prospective buyer what they need to do to make the housing operative and any costs they need to sustain.
Procedure
- The seller sends the equipment to the buyer, having verified that everything is as privately agreed, who sends it to Easydive alongside the maintenance form.
- Easydive conducts its checkup tests to verify that all is perfectly functional. If so, the costs quoted remain unchanged. If not (because of damaged components), Easydive sends a new quote containing additional interventions needed.
- From the written confirmation of the quote the housing will be operative and fully functional within approx. 10 work days. The buyer receives the refurbished housing, protected by Easydive’s lifetime guarantee.
Our lifetime Guarantee cannot be transferred as property.
Even if the seller has recently effected maintenance on the housing, the buyer needs to do a new maintenance and transfer the guarantee onto themselves.
This is because we cannot know if since the last maintenance (even be it recent) the seller has damaged O-rings or other components which could compromise the watertight integrity of the housing.
In order to be certain that the buyer is purchasing perfectly functional and updated equipment, maintenance needs to be done.
The buyer will be inserted in Easydive’s database and will receive news on software updates and much else to maintain the perfect condition of their equipment.
