Ikelite 4401.3 fiber optic converter for Flash DS series (3rd Series)
This third generation of the fiber optic converter is equipped with a hard anodized aluminum connector that reduces the weight without sacrificing the duration. We recommend the use with any Ikelite strobe produced in September 2018 or later with a rigid anodized aluminum bulkhead.
The converter simply connects to the strobe electric bulkhead instead of a synchronization cable connector. The enlarged slave window provides a visual field of about 90 degrees for remote activation.
The fiber optic converter automatically configures compatibility with both pre-flash and non-pre-flash camera modes. No setting of small switches or confusion on the pre-flash number. Just turn on the strobe and take a picture to configure it. This adapter is only a manual exposure trigger (non-TTL). Strobe output can be adjusted using manual power settings incorporated in the strobe (varies depending on the model).
For each strobe it is necessary a single fiber optic converter and a compatible cable. The use of two flashes requires two fiber optic converters.
This converter connects to an Ikelite DS strobe. It is not intended to be connected to a housing and will not provide any functionality if connected to an IKELITE bulkhead in a housing.
